The South Blount County Utility District had another successful year in celebrating National Drinking Water Week, May 4th-10th with the residents of Blount County. Thank you to everyone who participated.
This year's event focused on the benefits that Only Tap Water can Deliver, such as fire protection, vegitation growth, and the health and well-being of humans throughout the world. Our district hosted nearly 100 Blount County Girl Scout Troops and families as they discovered the endless benefits that can only come from our local water system.
For more than 30 years the American Water Works Association (AWWA) has celebrated National Drinking Water Week with its members. Today hundreds of non-profit educational, professional, and public interest groups such as the Environmental Protection Agency and teh Grocery Manufacturers of America have formed an alliance dedicated to the public awareness and involvement of private and public drinking water issues.
If you and your family missed the event this year but would like to learn more about your local water system please feel free to call our district office at 982-3560 and schedule your own tour of our state-of-the-art treatment plant. Also visit the activity links to the left for more fun!
