At South Blount Co Utility District we strive to maintain top notch customer service and unparalleled water quality, but above all we want you to be proud to have us as your water service provider. We are always looking toward the future and planning for what is coming down the pipeline. Over the years we have worked hard to keep up with the rapidly growing population in Blount County by the operation of our own water treatment plant, replacing aging infrastructure, installing new water lines, larger main lines and a variety of other improvement projects.
Our current Main Office, located at 808 W. Lamar Alexander Pkwy, has served us well over the last 27 years. In 2004 we added on to the west side of the building, giving us a little room to grow. However, today we are once again in need of more space and have out grown the capacity of our current location. So it is with great excitement that we announce that construction for our new customer service and operations center will begin this winter. Construction proposals were accepted early October and the award was given to Evans-Ailey Construction from Powell, TN. We will be selling our current office and the accompanying shop buildings.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This new building will provide our staff and operations the space necessary to be prepared for years to come. By improving our distribution, construction and customer service departments we are better equipped to attend to the needs of our service area and our customers. We are please to announce that this project will largely be funded by savings from bond restructuring and the remainder with operational reserves. Smart investing and judicious planning have allowed the district to keep rates stable since 2013, with no increase on the horizon. We operate on the principle of proactively planning today, to be prepared for tomorrow. The new customer service and operations center is a key piece of the preparation and planning for the future of water service for the residents of Blount County.
PROJECT LOCATION: The new facility will be located at 320 Partnership Parkway, next to Farm Credit, a short 4 miles from our current location. Our new campus will house a 10,000 square foot Customer Service Center and a 21,000 square foot Distribution Warehouse situated on over 12 acres. PROJECT TIMELINE: The initial timeline for completion is 330 calendar days, putting the estimated completion date around early November 2020.
December 20th: Breaking ground on Friday, December 20th, we gathered together with community leaders, co-workers, and friends to celebrate the official ground breaking of the district's new Customer Service & Operations Center.
